Why PS3 Wireless Drum Dongle Won’t Work with Band Hero
The PS3 Wireless Drum Dongle is not compatible with Band Hero.
Technical Reasons
Different wireless protocols: The PS3 dongle uses standard Bluetooth; Band Hero (and Guitar Hero drum kits) use a proprietary 2.4 GHz RF protocol.
Dedicated receiver required:Band Hero drum sets ship with their own USB dongle (white, labeled “Band Hero” or “Guitar Hero”). That specific receiver must be paired with the drums.
Cross-platform mismatch: The PS3 dongle is coded for PS3-first titles like Rock Band (which uses Bluetooth drums) or SingStar.
How to Get Drums Working in Band Hero
Ensure you have the correct wireless receiver (usually bundled with the Band Hero drum kit).
Plug it into a front USB port on the console.
Turn on the drum controller; it should auto-pair. If not, hold the sync button on both dongle and drums.
Calibrate in-game (Options → Calibrate).
No adapter or hack bridges the PS3 dongle to Band Hero. Use the right hardware.
