NBA 2K9 on PS2 vs. PS3: Major Visual Differences

NBA 2K9 on PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3 are visually distinct—the PS3 version leverages significantly more powerful hardware.

PS3 Advantages

• Higher resolution: 720p native vs. PS2's 480i/480p.
• Better textures & lighting: Player skin, court materials, crowd detail, and arena lighting are far more realistic.
• Improved player models: More polygons, detailed faces, accurate body types, signature animations.
• Smoother performance: Consistent 60 FPS target vs. occasional dips on PS2.

The PS2 version is a remarkable achievement for its hardware, but the PS3 version is a generational leap—sharper, deeper, and more lifelike in every visual aspect.
