Why You Can't Buy the MW2 Stimulus Package on PS3 Anymore

The Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package DLC (released 2010) has been delisted from the PlayStation Store for years. You cannot purchase it digitally anymore.

Why It's Gone

• Standard DLC lifecycle: Publishers routinely remove older DLC from storefronts, especially when game servers are deprecated.
• Server shutdown: The official MW2 multiplayer servers on PS3 are largely inactive—even if you had the maps, matchmaking would likely fail.

Possible Workarounds

• Physical "Game of the Year" edition: Some retail releases included the Stimulus Package (and Resurgence Pack) on disc. Check used game stores or eBay.
• Account with prior purchase: If you bought it years ago on the same PSN account, you might re-download it from your Download List—but this is inconsistent for delisted content.

Better Alternatives

• Play newer Call of Duty titles on PS3 (Black Ops, MW3, Black Ops II, Ghosts)—still have active-ish communities.
• Experience Modern Warfare 2 (2009) on PC (Steam) or via backward compatibility on newer Xbox/PlayStation consoles (the 2020 MW2 Campaign Remastered is single-player only).

The Stimulus Package maps (Bailout, Salvage, Storm) are classics, but the ecosystem to play them on PS3 is effectively gone.
