The Sims FreePlay: Complete Overview (Mobile Life Sim)

The Sims FreePlay is a free-to-play mobile life simulation (iOS, Android, Fire OS, formerly Windows Phone/BlackBerry) by EA Mobile / Firemonkeys. Distinct from The Sims Mobile and PC The Sims 4.

Core Gameplay Loop

• Real-Time Progression: Actions take real hours (sleep 8h, work 8h, plant 12h). Speed up with Life Points (LP) or Social Points (SP).
• Town Building: Unlock residential/commercial lots, build houses, community buildings (Park, Hospital, School).
• Sim Management: Create up to 34 Sims. Needs (Hunger, Bladder, Energy, Hygiene, Social, Fun). Careers, Hobbies, Relationships.
• Quests & Events: Discovery Quests (unlock content), Live Events (limited-time prizes), Daily Tasks.
• Currency: Simoleons (earned), LP (premium, slow earn), SP (social actions), XP (level up).

Key Differences from PC Sims

• No open world; lot-based loading screens.
• No Create-a-Style (color/pattern tool).
• Multiplayer: Visit friends' towns (Facebook/Game Center), send gifts, compete in Social Tasks.
• No mods/CC.
• Frequent updates (2011–present) with new hobbies, careers, worlds (e.g., SimTown Express, Vacation Island).
