Installing Games on PlayStation Without Media Go

Media Go was discontinued in 2017. It cannot install games on any PlayStation console (PS3, PS4, PS5, PSP, Vita). Sony replaced it with direct console/store workflows.

Current Official Methods

PS5 / PS4

1. Connect console to internet.
2. Sign in to PSN.
3. Open **PlayStation Store** (icon on home).
4. Buy / Claim game (Free/PS Plus).
5. Select **Download**. Auto-installs after download.
6. **Remote:** Use Web Store or **PlayStation App** (iOS/Android) → Library → Download to Console (must be in Rest Mode with "Stay Connected").

PS3 / PS Vita / PSP

1. On device: **PlayStation Store** app → Purchase → Download → Auto-install.
2. **Web Store:** Purchase on store.playstation.com → "Download to PS3/Vita/PSP" (device must be on/standby, signed in, auto-download enabled).
3. PS3 Disc Games: Insert disc → Game installs to HDD (mandatory for many).
4. PSP/PS Vita Physical: Insert UMD / Game Card → Play (no install needed usually).

PC (Remote Play / Streaming)

• PS Remote Play: Stream PS5/PS4 to PC/Mac/Mobile. Not installation.
• PlayStation Plus Premium: Cloud streaming of PS3/PS4/PS5 games to PC. No local install.

Legacy Content (PSP/PS3/PS Vita Stores)

The web store still allows purchase of PS3/PSP/Vita games **if you own the device** and it's linked. Some delisted titles are unavailable. Use the **Download List** on the device itself for past purchases.

Bottom Line: Use the console's built-in Store. Media Go is dead.
