Yellow Flashing Numbers Top-Right in Games/Videos? That's an FPS Counter

That's an FPS (Frames Per Second) counter. It shows how many frames your GPU renders each second.

Why It Appears

  • Game setting: Many games (Steam, EA App, Ubisoft Connect) have "Show FPS" toggles.
  • GPU overlay: NVIDIA GeForce Experience (Alt+Z → Performance), AMD Radeon Software (Ctrl+Shift+O), Intel Arc Control.
  • Third-party tools: MSI Afterburner + RivaTuner Statistics Server (RTSS), FRAPS, CapFrameX.
  • Browser: Chrome/Edge "Show performance" in DevTools (F1 → Rendering → FPS meter).

How to Disable

  • In-game: Settings → HUD / Display → "Show FPS" Off.
  • GeForce Experience: Overlay → Settings → HUD Layout → None.
  • Radeon Software: Performance → Metrics → Toggle Off.
  • RTSS: Close RTSS or uncheck "Show On-Screen Display" per profile.
  • Steam: Settings → In-Game → In-Game FPS Counter → Off.

High FPS (>60) = smooth; <30 = choppy. Use it to diagnose performance, then turn off for immersion.
