Are New Nintendo DS Games Still Being Made? No—Production Ended in 2013

No. Nintendo ceased first-party DS game production in 2013. The last major releases were titles like Pokémon Black 2/White 2 (2012) and a few 2013 localizations.

Current State

• Physical carts: Only pre-owned/new-old-stock remain.
• Digital (DSi Shop): Closed March 2017; no purchases possible.
• Homebrew/Indie: A small community still releases homebrew games/apps for DS/DSi via flashcarts or custom firmware.

For new handheld games, the Nintendo Switch is the supported platform.
