Game Copy Wizard for PS3: Backup Only, Not Piracy

Game Copy Wizard creates backup copies of PS3 discs you legally own. It does not let you copy games you don't own.

Legal vs. Illegal Use

• Legal: Backing up your own physical games for personal archival (format-shifting).
• Illegal: Copying games you don't own, downloading ISOs, sharing backups = copyright infringement (civil/criminal penalties).
• Function: Reads PS3 Blu-ray disc → creates ISO/backup on PC/external drive.
• Limitations: Cannot download games, copy from digital downloads, or bypass PS3 encryption on retail discs without CFW.
• PS3 Disc Encryption: Retail discs use AACS/BD+ — standard drives can't read without specific firmware/keys.

Practical Reality

• Most "Game Copy Wizard" type tools are marketed for piracy.
• Legitimate PS3 backup requires: CFW PS3 (to dump decrypted ISO) or specific PC BD drive + keys.
• Sony's terms prohibit circumvention of copy protection (DMCA anti-circumvention).

Legal Alternatives

• Keep original discs safe.
• Buy digital on PS Store (play on PS3/PS4/PS5 via backward compat).
• PlayStation Plus Premium: Classics catalog streaming.

Use only for legitimate backups of your own library. Piracy hurts developers and risks your devices.
