Connecting Blaze PS3 Controller to PC: Adapter or Software Bridge

Blaze PS3 controllers use Sony's proprietary protocol — no native PC support. Requires adapter or software bridge.

Option 1: Hardware Adapter (Most Reliable)

  • Mayflash Magic-NS / Magic-S Pro: USB dongle, pairs PS3/PS4/PS5/Switch Pro controllers to PC/Xbox/Switch — $25–35
  • 8BitDo USB Wireless Adapter 2: Similar, strong firmware support — $20–25
  • Brook Wingman XB / PS: Specialized, low latency — $30–40

Option 2: Software (Bluetooth)

  • SCP Toolkit (legacy): Emulates Xbox 360 driver — unsigned driver, Win10/11 issues
  • DSHidMini / ViGEm + BthPS3: Modern, signed drivers, maps DS3 → XInput — recommended for Windows 10/11
  • Steam Input: Big Picture → Controller Settings → "PlayStation Configuration Support" — works for Steam games only

Blaze-Specific Notes

  • Verify Blaze model uses standard PS3 protocol (most do)
  • Test with adapter before buying — some cheap clones use non-standard chips
  • Wired USB: Blaze wired controllers may work as generic HID — test first

Mayflash Magic-NS + Blaze = plug-and-play XInput. Best $30 spent.
