Is Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition 1080p Compatible on PS3? No—Here's Why

The PlayStation 3 hardware cannot output a native 1080p signal. While the game assets might support higher resolutions, the console's video output is capped at 720p.

Therefore, even the Gold Edition of Resident Evil 5 will not display at native 1080p on the PS3. The game will run at 720p and upscale if your TV supports it.
