Is the High School Musical 3 Dance Pad Compatible with Revolution Games on PS2? Not Compatible

Not Compatible

The High School Musical 3 Dance Pad is a proprietary peripheral designed exclusively for High School Musical 3: Senior Year Dance! on PS2. It uses a unique connector/encoding that standard PS2 software (including "Revolution" dance games like Dance Dance Revolution) cannot recognize.

Why It Won't Work

• Different Pinout/Protocol: HSM3 pad sends custom signals; DDR expects standard PS2 dance mat codes.
• No Driver Support: PS2 has no OS-level driver layer; each game reads raw controller data.
• Physical Connector: May fit PS2 port, but electrical signals differ.

What Works for DDR on PS2

• Official Konami Dance Pads (PS2/PS1).
• Licensed 3rd-Party Pads labeled "PS2 Compatible / DDR".
• PS1 Dance Pads (work via PS2 backward compatibility).

Sell the HSM3 pad to a fan; buy a proper DDR mat for Revolution games.
