Can You Play GTA V in Third Person on PS4? Yes—Here's How

Third Person Is Fully Supported on PS4

Correction: GTA V on PS4 does allow third-person view. The original answer was incorrect.

How to Switch Views

• On Foot: Press the Touchpad (or Select on PS3) to cycle: First-Person → Third-Person Close → Third-Person Far.
• In Vehicle: Press Touchpad to cycle: First-Person → Third-Person Close → Third-Person Far → Cinematic.
• Settings: Pause → Settings → Display → "First Person Control Type" (Standard / Vehicle Hood)—but third-person is always available.

Notes

• Default is third-person; first-person was added in the PS4/Xbox One/PC "Enhanced" version.
• GTA Online uses the same controls.
• PC: V key cycles views.

Enjoy Los Santos from whichever perspective you prefer!
