The PS3 does not have a dedicated "Photos" app for importing/editing like a phone, but you can store, view, and manage image files (JPG, PNG, BMP) via several methods.
1. Copy from USB Drive
Format USB as FAT32 or exFAT.
Create folder structure: PS3\PHOTO\ (optional but recognized).
Copy images to USB.
Plug into PS3 → Photo column → USB Device → △ (Triangle) → Display All → Select → △ → Copy.
Images save to Photo Gallery on HDD.
2. Media Server (DLNA) Streaming
PC: Enable "Media Streaming" in Windows (Control Panel → Network and Sharing Center) or use Universal Media Server / Plex.
PS3: Photo → Search for Media Servers → Select PC → Browse folders → View/stream instantly (no copy needed).
To save: Select photo → △ → Copy.
3. Download from Web Browser
PS3 Browser → Navigate to image → △ → File → Save Image.
Saves to Photo Gallery → Saved Images.
4. In-Game Screenshots
Games with Photo Mode (GT5/6, Uncharted 2/3, God of War III, etc.) save directly to Photo Gallery.
For games without: PS Button → Save Screenshot (only works if developer enabled it; rare on PS3).
5. Manage & Export
Photo Gallery → Create albums, slideshows (with music from Music column), set as background.
Export back to USB: Photo Gallery → Select → △ → Copy → USB Device.
