Rock Band 1 Instruments vs. Guitar Hero World Tour (PS3): Not Compatible

Rock Band 1 instruments (guitar, drums, mic) do not work with Guitar Hero World Tour on PS3.

Why the Incompatibility?

Different USB VID/PID: Each instrument identifies itself with a unique Vendor/Product ID. GHWT only whitelists Guitar Hero hardware IDs.
Protocol Differences: RB1 drums send 4-lane + kick data; GHWT expects 5-lane + optional kick. RB1 guitar lacks the GHWT slide bar/touch strip.
No Software Remapping: PS3 GHWT has no controller config menu to reassign inputs.

Compatibility Matrix (PS3)

Solution: For GHWT, use a Guitar Hero guitar (GH3, GHWT, GH5, WoR) or a GHWT-era drum kit. RB1 hardware is forward-compatible only with Rock Band 2+.
